Full tour report is STILL in production, buy here are a few more bits of nonsense…

  1. Golf England this year are pushing women’s membership as part of their strategic plan. They have appointed a couple of “ambassadors” to promote the initiative. One is an attractive BBC TV breakfast presenter. Her name ..NAGA Munchetty. (Non golfers might need to seek an explanation from a golfer)

  2. The following revelation is posted on the wall of Horse Guards Arch…

  3. Leaving aside all the obvious comments about our trip to Paris, one unusual experience was riding on tube trains with no drivers.

  4. If new building activity is any indication of the heath of an economy, then London is in absolute boom times. The amount of new building in the City and in the surburbs is incredible.

  5. For racing people…..one day last week there were 4 race meetings in UK - 28 races in all. Of the 28 races, 24 were over jumps!!! …and there was an Amateur riders race at each meeting.

  6. Australians are going to have to smarten up…the poms have the world heavy weight boxing champ, the Davis Cup, the formula 1 champ, the ashes and so it goes on. The sports writers over here are having a field day.

  7. Its 150 days since we left Melb shores. We have spent 90 days in Romsey town and 60 days elsewhere

8.Finally, a few comments from the Daily Tele about some of the countries who will compete in the European soccer championships:

Two of the worlds smallest countries are inside Italy’s borders - San Marino and the Vatican Northern Irelands most spoken minority language is ???? - (you can 10 guesses and you won’t get it) Spanish is the second most widely spoken language in the world after Chinese Sweden pays students 120 pounds per month to attend high school
