Hello All
Trivia/nonsense time again..We are safely back from our trip to Vienna and Buda and Pest…Had a great time- max temp for 12 days was +2 lowest -13 !!
Its amazing what tickles ones fancy…
1. Something I read on the plane ...Sagarda familla Cathedral in Barcelona was designed by Antonio Guada in 1883. At the time he announced "my client is not in a hurry". The famous building is now due to be finished in 2026. 133 years after the foundations were laid. BMC Landscape Construction clients don’t seem to be that patient.
2. Just a easy sand wedge down the Gasse (street) from our apartment in Vienna, there is a great little wine bar on one side of the cobbled street. It sells a very drinkable beer called Schladminger. Across the street is an historic restaurant called Ofenloch it gets BnP mention because it has operated continuously since 1704!! The only downside at both locations you get to enjoy plently of OP smokes...
A reasonable Tony 5 wood from there and you are in amongst the downtown Vienna shops.
A must stay location for any aspiring Vienna tourists.
3. As mentioned it gets pretty cold in that part of the world…some people feel the cold and others don’t ???
This photo was taken outside St Stephens Cathedral Vienna ..3.00pm and -6 degrees???

5. In 1986 the Economist Magazine invented the Big Mac index. It is as an indicator of purchasing power around the world. At the moment a Big Mac costs $4.93 in the US In Hungary it currently costs $US 3.08
6. Vienna is so posh they even sell STRING teabags as standard.
7. A couple of quaint signs….one outside a hotel said “Beer garden Inside”. Another one advertised “Small black coffee with hot water” ??? A drinks menu at a traditional restaurant had 5 headings :
- Aperitifs
- Bier
- Weisswein (white wine)
- Rotwein(red wine) and
- Booze ?????
8. KIDS KORNER
