Hello All from sunny Amsterdam....or as the local tourist authority says "I AM sterdam"
Once again the Mothers next epistle is with the editor...so I'll stay away from the main stuff..

1. I hadn't realised how flat a city could be. The biggest hill in Amsterdam is the speed hump outside our apartment. But when you think about it, the place has to be flat....there are as many canals as roads and as we all know water doesn't go up hills. The flatness also gives rise to the fact that there are at least two bikes for every resident in the place...there are every where and all seem to be breaking the speed limit ...they fly along
2. In the Scottish border country I saw the most expensive sleeveless jumper in the world $550 ..ridiculous
3. Question ...what is the most cropped product in the world ?? Wheat..no. Grapes...no....??
4. In the House of Lords in Westminster (equivalent to our Senate) there are 90 Lords...30 of them are over 90 years of age. ....there is a career for me yet
5. Surprisingly Guiness is proving to be a worthy substitute for Crown Larger
6. Another quirky one over here is they make a ONE seater car...normal looking car ...4 wheels etc...but tiny
7. Finally, I saw this sign in a shop yesterday " People who say that money can't buy happiness, obviously don't know where to shop"
