I suppose you could call this an adventure

We are back in the UK again after spending 4 nights on the boat. This was our 5th boat trip and we expected it to be just like the others- cruising through the beautiful countryside in very manageable canals, popping in to visit beautiful villages etc but this was quite different. To start with, we had to change our chosen route because the river was unnavigable which meant an extra 2.5 hours drive to get to the new destination. There we were told there was some concern about water levels because of rain and water being released from the dam up river. We were a little put off by that but they said they would contact us if it became dangerous! So we started off and soon found that it was quite a challenge as the current from the weirs was so strong. It was nothing like what we had experienced. Dominic was our savior though. He managed so well and it was really scary at times. I am not sure Dominic and Emma are going to rush back for a cruise. We did have a lovely time altogether but I think it might be our last trip.

I am just adding random photos of photos taken on the trip. We did some lovely villages and a large town which had a market the day we were there.
