Another update

Tina McInerney

Continuing on, in the afternoon we went to see the parade in town. There was a new memorial commemorated for the War Horse - during WW1, the horses going to war were collected just out of Romsey before being shipped to France. The big puppet from the War Horse show was paraded in the Town Square - we missed that - and then there was a parade of military bands and regiments and people who had served in the Forces. Quite small parade but interesting - as you saw, I waved the flag for the English! i felt I should as the Princess Royal was in the parade. (The Princess Royal is Ann, in case you didn’t know - it used to be her Aunt Margaret who died).

Here is photo of the War Horse and the boy.

It is a very touching statue.

And in typical British fashion, we went to the pub after the parade, with a couple of Claire's friends from mothers group and their babies. And that was Friday...

An update

Tina McInerney

hi everyone

Well, we are quite settled into Claire and Andy’s home and have had Solomon’s company this weekend which has been great. The weather has been perfect - not too hot to be out and about as we have been busy with parades, fairs and visits to old houses. Claire and Andy have made us so comfortable giving us Abigail’s room (she is in their room) and we have a whole cupboard and drawers so we are not living out of suitcases.

The first day was taken up with a walk into town, me unpacking and sorting into drawers etc. and Dad went with Dominic to check out the golf clubs nearby. (As you can imagine, it didn't take Dad as long to unpack as he didn't bring the extra rubbish that I did such as knitting needles etc etc)

Friday, we started off with a walk in the country. Here are some photos of things we passed:

A church from 1880s

A little pony.

Some donkeys.

Dad going through the gate on the Test Way.

Will have to stop here because my iPad is doing funny things.

A surprise

Hi everyone

I was doing some packing tonight and took a cup and saucer from the cupboard. To my surprise, I found a little tooth on the saucer! See the photo below. Does anyone remember one of their children losing a tooth at our house? I presume the tooth fairy visited on the promise that a tooth had really fallen out.

Solomon and I were looking for somewhere for Tina and Tony to rent. This place has two nice apartments available and it is in a really good spot.  Looks ideal but just noticed the name of the place!
